Kodi is a cornerstone of the HTPC and Android TV set ups nowadays. It generally doesn’t have the best user interface but it is head and shoulders above anything else.

This is compatible with anywhere that Kodi runs and add-ons are supported. The main Kodi driver we use is a Nvidia Shield TV.

This guide focusing specifically on Streaming and Local Video playback.

Software

  • Kodi
  • Plex: Likely the most controversial so i’ll start here. Plex will hopefully soon be replaced by Jellyfin but the reality is Plex + PlexKodi are basically an on stoppable integration. It just works and it works really well. So yes, I still recommend plex.

Addons

  • PlexKodiConnect - Use Plex as the backend for your media.
  • Daddylive - Live TV Streaming, Live Sports streaming.
  • Duff You - Youtube without an API
  • Twitch Addon - Official kodi distribution
  • SuperFavorites?
